This stainless steel mango slicer slides around the flat pit in one push and leaves you with two clean, cheek-shaped halves — no slippery knife work around the stone.
From the halves you can score cubes, scoop the flesh for smoothies or slice it for salads and salsa. It takes the mess out of one of the trickiest fruits to cut.

How to use the mango slicer
- Wash the mango first — the FDA recommends rinsing produce before cutting so dirt on the skin does not end up on the flesh. Read the FDA produce safety tips.
- Stand the mango upright on a cutting board, stem side down.
- Center the slicer over the top so the opening lines up with the flat pit, then press straight down with even pressure.
- Score the halves into cubes or scoop the flesh out with a spoon.

It works best on medium to large mangoes such as Tommy Atkins or Kent. Very small or very flat varieties like Ataulfo may need a knife to finish.
How ripe should the mango be?
Slightly soft but not mushy. A very ripe mango is juicy and the flesh can tear; a firm one needs more pressure.
What do I do with the pit?
There is still fruit around the pit. Trim it off with a small knife or eat it as the cook’s treat.
Is the edge sharp?
Yes, the stainless-steel edge is sharp. Keep your fingers on the handles and press down away from your body.
