Stop guessing whether the chicken is done. This instant read meat thermometer shows the temperature on a clear digital display.
The probe folds away for safe storage.
1 × food thermometer
Wipe the probe with a damp cloth or alcohol wipe. Do not submerge the body.
For target temperatures, see the FoodSafety.gov safe minimum internal temperature chart.
Temperature and timing are the two things that decide whether food turns out right. A reliable thermometer or timer takes the guesswork out of grilling, roasting, candy making and baking.
Range and speed. Check that the temperature range covers what you cook, from frozen foods to candy and frying oil. A clear display you can read quickly helps when the grill or pan is hot.
Probe position. Insert the probe into the thickest part of the food, away from bone and fat, and wait for the number to settle.
Safe temperatures. Meat, poultry, fish and egg dishes each have a safe minimum internal temperature. See the FoodSafety.gov safe minimum internal temperature chart before you cook.
Timers. Mechanical timers need no batteries. Wind past five minutes, then set the time you need.
Cleaning. Wipe probes and blades with a damp cloth or alcohol wipe between foods. Keep electronic parts out of water unless the product says it is waterproof.
Storage. Fold or cover probes after use and keep the tool in a drawer where it will not be crushed.
Who it's for. Grillers, bakers, candy makers and anyone who wants to stop guessing whether food is done.
Common mistakes. Taking the reading too early, touching the pan with the probe or measuring near a bone gives a false number. Wait for the reading to settle and check the thickest part.
Resting. Large cuts of meat keep cooking for a few minutes after you take them off the heat. Let them rest before slicing.
Batteries. Digital tools run on small batteries. If the display dims or readings jump, replace the battery first.
Gift idea. A good thermometer or timer is a useful gift for new cooks and grill lovers.
Customers often pair it with the Silicone Spatula with Digital Thermometer and the Owl Mechanical Kitchen Timer, 60 Minutes. Browse more Kitchen Thermometers & Timers for your home.
